Shirley Jean Watson

Shirley Jean Watson, age 80, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett, Missouri.  She was born January 31, 1939, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Leonard and Gladys (Cutbirth) Brumley.
Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Central High School in Springfield, Missouri.  She was a Respiratory Therapist for the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, for 21 ½ years, retiring on September 1, 1997. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Springfield.
On May 29, 1959, she married William Albert Watson in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on November 15, 2001.
Shirley is survived by her three daughters, Sondra Hickman and her husband, Terry, of Aurora, Angie Watson and Pam England and her husband, Doug, all of Mt. Vernon; two grandsons, Jake Hickman and Tessa of Aurora and Jared Hickman and Sonya and their daughter, Kenzie of Aurora; one brother, Larry Brumley and his wife, Luanne, of Springfield; one sister, Sharon Stone of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Gladys, husband, William, sister, Pat Withers and her husband, Robert and brother-in-law, Bud Stone.
A visitation will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
