Stanley Garber

Stanley Garber, 72, of Sarcoxie passed away Dec. 19, 2020.
Garber entered this life on Oct. 3, 1948, son of the late George and Kathleen (Condie) Garber. He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School, and attended college at Missouri Southern. He retired after 20-plus years as the postmaster of Sarcoxie. Garber was a substitute teacher for the Joplin school district and enjoyed passing on his knowledge to the students. He was a member of the Sarcoxie Lions Club and was a current member of the Sarcoxie R-2 school board. He was also a past member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Charles Garber of Carthage, Dr. Sarah (Geoffrey) Beers of Seattle, Wash. and Karen (Mikel) Golding of Sarcoxie; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Keith Garber, of Sarcoxie, and Ann Wilson, of Joplin; nieces, Tiffany (Jon) Goldfine and Tara Wilson and fiancé, Seth Kurz; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services were held Dec. 23, 2020 at the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Lions Club in care of the funeral home. In the future the family will have a celebration of life and notification of date and time will be announced. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie.
