Stuart (Kent) Young

Stuart (Kent) Young, 75, of Monett,  passed away Nov. 19, 2018, while at his home with family at his side.
Young was born April 5, 1943 in Wichita, Kan., to the late Clement Aldin Young and Mary Juline (Gibson) Young. He graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1962. For several years, he drove a truck for Friend Tire before starting a 19 year career with EFCO as a Supervisor. He was a member of Countryside Christian Church and had been attending New Site Baptist Church for the last several years. He enjoyed fly fishing, camping and traveling, especially to Texas in the winter. He married Kay Sanders in 1962 in Verona. To this union, they were blessed with three children.
He is survived by: wife, Sharon Young, of the home; daughter, Kristine (Jeff) Franklin of Neosho; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: sons, David Young and Dennis Young; brother, Curtis Young; and sister, Eloise Beck.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 8, 2018, at Buchanan Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
