Sweet and Sour Meatballs

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Sweet and Sour Meatballs by Cleora Ruth Meier

MEATBALLS:
3 lbs. hamburger
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 cups dry oatmeal
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. chili powder
1 cup onion, chopped
2 eggs, beaten

SAUCE:
2 cups catsup
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 T. liquid smoke
1 tsp. chili powder

Mix together the meatball ingredients. Roll into walnut-size balls. Brown in a large skillet. Place meatballs into a 9x13-inch pan.

Combine the sauce ingredients, mixing well, and pour over the meatballs. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
