Tangy Fruit Oatmeal

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Tangy Fruit Oatmeal by Della Myers

3 cups orange juice
1-1/2 cups quick or old-fashioned oatmeal
1/2 cup coarsely chopped apricots or raisins
1/4 cup slivered almonds, optional
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Bring the juice to a boil. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Bring back to a boil and cook one minute for quick oats or five minutes for regular oats. Stir occasionally. Cover and remove from the heat. Let stand until desired consistency.

For microwave: Combine all ingredients. Microwave on high 8-9 minutes, stirring after four minutes. Let stand until desired consistency.
