Teresa Nelson

Teresa Nelson, 60, of Pierce City passed away Jan. 4, 2019, at Mercy Aurora Hospital in Aurora. Nelson was born in Beebe, Ark., Jan. 24, 1958 to Robert and Rosa (Bechtel) Powell. She was married to Clarence Nelson March 27, 1982, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett. Nelson worked at Tyson Food before retiring and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friestatt.
Surviving are the following: her husband; sons, Christopher of Pierce City and Micheal of Springfield; sisters, Liz Welborn of Ormon Beach, Fla. and Helen Powell of Emporia, Kan.; brother, Robert Powell of Emporia, Kan.; Nelson was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Vandorn.
Memorial services followed visitation at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, Jan. 11, 2019. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements were under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
