Two suspects wanted in connection with Everton kidnapping, rape case behind bars

wo more people wanted in connection with the alleged rape, kidnapping and other alleged crimes committed against a woman in Everton, were taken into custody on Friday, Oct. 18.
David Wayne Arnold, 46, is currently being held in the Greene County Jail in Springfield, and Wanda L. Maggard, 53, is in the Lawrence County Jail in Mt. Vernon. Information on the circumstances of their arrests was not immediately available, but Arnold’s profile at the Greene County Jail stated he was taken into custody by United States Marshals, while Maggard’s profile at the Lawrence County Jail showed she was arrested by officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
With the arrests of Arnold and Maggard, four of the five people wanted in connection with the case are now in custody. Zackary Wade was booked into the Greene County Jail on Sept. 24, and James F. Maggard Jr. was taken into custody by United States Marshals on Oct. 5. The final person wanted in connection with the case, Donnie Willis, remains at large as of press time.
 According to the probable cause statement in the case, the victim alleges she was kidnapped and then drugged and raped multiple times over multiple days. Arnold is currently charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation, first-degree assault, first-degree kidnapping and delivery of a controlled substance. Wanda Maggard is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault and first-degree kidnapping.
Both Wanda Maggard and Arnold are currently being held without bail pending trial.
