Venison Beans

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Venison Beans by Vernie Bradley

1-1/2 lbs. ground deer meat
1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 T. mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can pork & beans
1 can red kidney beans
1 can butter beans

Mix the meat and onion. Brown and drain the excess grease. Add the remaining ingredients and heat to 165° or until thoroughly cooked. Also makes a good recipe for the slow cooker.
