Walker arrested for Aurora Inn shooting incident

The suspect in an evening shooting that took place in the parking lot of Aurora Inn on June 3 has been named in a press release from the Aurora-Marionville Police Department. Shortly after the incident, authorities located and arrested Cole Walker, 22, of Aurora. He is currently being held in the Lawrence County Jail.
The shooting victim in the case has been identified as Shannon Goble, 36, Aurora. As of June 7, it was believed that Goble will recover from his injuries.
Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Don Trotter has filed multiple felony charges against Walker. Walker is currently held in the Lawrence County Jail without bond on charges of assault in the first degree, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence.
The investigation suggests that Walker became angry at and confronted Goble, whom he knew,
in the parking lot of the motel and eventually fired a 9mm handgun at Goble, striking him in the leg.
Walker fled the area of the shooting and attempted to conceal the weapon. The weapon was
subsequently located and seized by law enforcement.
