Walter Charles Simpson

Walter Charles (W.C.) Simpson, 99, of Billings, passed away Nov. 24, 2019 at The Ozarks Methodist Manor in  Marionville. Simpson was born July 29, 1920 in Elmore City, Okla. to Charles Edward and Ira Belle (Thomas) Simpson.
Simpson served his country in World War II in The United States Army. He served overseas and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, the Army of Occupation Ribbon-Japan and additional service ribbons and bars. He was of the Baptist faith, a farmer and worked for Syntex Chemical in Verona. In his younger years, he was also an oil field worker in Oklahoma. He married Helen Goodson in 1941; she preceded him in death.
He is survived by: sons; Kenny (Phyllis) Simpson, of California and Danny (Cheri) Simpson of New Mexico; daughter, Rebecca (David) DeLong of Billings; six grandchildren; sister, Jean Walker of Texas; and many extended family members and countless friends. He was preceded in death by: daughter; Linda Sue Richey; a son-in-law; four brothers; four sisters; and his parents.
Visitation was held in Meadors Funeral Home in Republic, Nov. 30, 2019. A graveside service was held Dec. 2, 2019 in Paoli Cemetery in Paoli, Okla. Simpson’s family is being served by Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
