Walter E. Jolly

Walter E. Jolly, 80, of Monett, passed away May 22, 2020 at his home after a sudden illness.
Jolly was born Sept. 12, 1939 in Westport, Ind., to Roy Woodrow Sr. and Ada Elizabeth (Robertson) Jolly. He was a graduate of Sandcreek High School in Westport, Ind. and Baptist Bible College in Springfield. He was an Air Force veteran, being honorably discharged in 1962. He was a minister at the Temple Baptist Church in Monett for many years. He worked in the dispatch department at Tyson’s Foods until his retirement. He was a member of the New Site Baptist Church in Monett. In 1962 in Little Rock, Ark., he married Arlene Sutterfield.
Survivors include: wife, Arlene of the home; sons, Wayne  (Kerrigan) Jolly of Winder, Ga. and Christopher (Gina) Jolly of Ashland; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Roy W. Jolly, Jr. and Harold Lloyd Jolly; andsister, Patricia Deckard.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials may be made to New Site Baptist Church Building Fund or to Samaritan Purse in care of the funeral home.          Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
