WESLEY DEE SWINNEY

Wesley Dee Swinney, age 83, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center. He was born March 26, 1941, in Ash Grove, Missouri; the son of Arthur and Norvel (Hendrickson) Swinney.
Wesley was a 1959 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was a cattle farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
On January 13, 1962, he married Verla Dean Mieswinkel, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Verla; two daughters, Becky Blevins and her husband, Tony of La Russell, Missouri and Jan Branch and husband, Whitney, of Monett, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Taylor (Allison) Blevins of Dayton, Minnesota, Tristan (Casey) Williams, of Centerton, Arkansas, Christian (Morgan) Wooldridge of Monett, Missouri, Sarah (Aaron) Lokovich, of Nixa, Missouri,  Luke Blevins, of Independence, Kansas, Abby (Santi) Rivas of Republic, Missouri, and Ariah Blevins, of Republic, Missouri; 12 great- grandchildren: Mac, Lainey and Penn Blevins, Auryah, Jaxxon, Tenslee, Raylee and Wrenlee Williams, Charley Wooldridge, Archer Barnett, Evie Lokovich and Rowan Richardson and one great-grandson on the way; one brother, Stephen Douglas Swinney of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Norvel; two sisters, Becky and Linda Swinney; and one brother, Norman Swinney.
Services under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon were held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon. Burial followed at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
