William James Gage

William James Gage, 90, of Lamar, passed away Oct. 8, 2019, at Mt. Vernon Veterans Home.
Gage was born Sept. 19, 1929 in Lamar to Frank Gage and Effie (Brummet) Gage. He graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1947. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army. In 1952, he married Joyce Maxine Harlin.
He worked as a Boarder Patrolman, an Immigration Officer and Criminal Investigator for the Justice Department. With his employment, he lived in California, Montana, North Dakota, Florida and Arizona. After retirement they returned to Lamar, where he was a member of the Lamar VFW.
Survivors include: wife of 67 years, Joyce; son Steven Gage of Okeechobee, Fla.; daughter, Victoria Konchar of Jupiter, Fla.; brother, Robert Gage, Arlington, Texas; sisters, Margaret Wattenbarger and Norma Jean Harris, both of Lamar.
Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at Daniel Funeral Home with Military Honors.
