Mary Christene Scherer, 84, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. She was born June 8, 1941, in Monroe, Iowa, the daughter of Tone and Bessie (Robison) Aalbers.

Leta Faye Kelton, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025. She was born Feb. 9, 1938, in Kelseyville, Calif., the daughter of John Ross and Jessie Thelma (Grimmett) Williams. She grew up and attended school in Aurora.
