Mt. Vernon head football coach Tom Cox presented senior Will Boswell with a plaque for breaking the defensive tackles record with 214 tackles in 2017 and the four-year career record with a total of 628. The presentation was held during halftime of the boy's basketball game Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Three days and three wins gives the Lady Mt'neers first place in the Kansas Army National Guard Invitational last week in Frontenac, KS.
Wins over Blue Springs (60-44), Nevada (65-42) and William Crisman (40-36) cemented the championship for Mt. Vernon.

The Miller Cardinals defeated Spokane on Tuesday, Jan. 8 by a final score of 59-51.
Neilson Hadlock led all scorers in the game with 22 points. Joel Kleeman added 19 for the Cardinals, while Presten Richardson had eight points.

The Mt. Vernon girl’s varsity basketball team traveled Saturday, Dec. 15, to Ozark to take on Fayetteville, Ark., in the Scoreboardguy Shootout. The Lady Mt’neers lost a tough battle 60-46.

Mt. Vernon senior standout welcomed the home crowd to her senior year in style Monday, Dec. 10, as she led all scorers with 37 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Lady Mt'neers to a decisive 30-point win over Nevada, 73-43.
