Agnes Marie Kahre

Agnes Marie Kahre, 96, of Pierce City passed away May 7, 2021 at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora. She was born in Monett, Nov. 24, 1924; the daughter of James and Mary (Gasser) Cahalan. She graduated from Pierce City High School. She married William “Bill” Kahre, Jr. Dec. 1, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They owned Kahre & Sons Slaughtering and Processing in Pierce City where she retired in 1986. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City.
She is survived by son, Steve Kahre, and special friend Catherine, of Fayetteville, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Therese Kahre of Monett; sisters-in-law, Pat Cahalan of Pierce City and Doreen Cahalan of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Cahalan; her husband; son, Stan Kahre; daughter-in-law, Kay Kahre; brothers, Lawrence, James “Bud” and Vince Cahalan and a sister-in-law, Ginny Cahalan.
The family received friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City May 11, 2021.
Services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City, May 11, 2021. Burial followed at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
