ALICE ADA EVATT

Alice Ada Evatt, 86, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. She was born in Chariton County on Nov. 8, 1938; the daughter of John Estal and Mildred Lavida (Welch) Washam.
She was a waitress and homemaker and a member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church.
On Oct. 3, 1958, she married Bobby Gene Evatt in Mt. Vernon. They were married for 66 years when he passed away on Oct. 23, 2024.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Evatt Kingsley of Mt. Vernon; two grandsons;  one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Neva (Frank) Owens of Mt. Vernon; and one brother, John Washam of Grand Lake, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby; one grandson, Kaleb Kingsley; four brothers: Ronald, Bobby, Donald and Tommy Washam and one sister, Roberta Bristow.
Services were held on Monday, March 24, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial followed at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.
