Avalyn Faye Jones

Avalyn Faye Jones, 87, of Ash Grove, passed away Aug. 25, 2019 in her home following an illness.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa Feb. 13, 1932 to Alva and Esther (Miller) Robbins. She was a retired nurse’s aid who worked in several veterans hospitals including: Kansas City; Fayetteville, Ark; Wadsworth near Ft. Leavenworth, Kan; as well as the original Ash Grove Nursing Home.
Jones is survived by: sons, Robert Joe Stokes of Massachusetts and Jeffrey A. Jones of Siloam Springs, Ark.; daughters, Linda Galloway of Westbrook, Conn. And Willoura Compton of Ash Grove; sisters, Goldie Bailey of Mt. Vernon and Lillie Howard of Ash Grove; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Alva John Robbins; and sister, Mina Holcomb.
Services were held Aug. 30, 2019 at the Birch Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in the Goss Cemetery near Miller under the direction of Birch Funeral Home in Ash Grove.
