Barbara Jean (Broberg) Huffman

Barbara Jean (Broberg) Huffman, 87, passed away on July 28, 2025. Born in Detroit Lakes, Minn. on Feb. 18, 1938 to Roger and Mabel Broberg.
On June 29, 1957, she married David I. Huffman. Together, they had four children. Their life was filled with adventures, including running a ServiceMaster business, building a home near Carlos, Minnesota, and building a cabin near Henning, Minnesota.
She held various jobs during her life, including working in a cannery, running a post office, serving in school cafeterias, working in retail sales, and managing a condominium complex. She served on the board of directors for their condo association, and during her retirement in Monett, Missouri, she volunteered at Cox Monett Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dave Huffman; her parents; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a niece and several nephews. Her four children survive her: Shellie (Bob) Wilson, Doug (Deb) Huffman, Mark (Kim) Huffman, and Carrie (Kelly) Hughes; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings; brothers-in-law; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at New Site Baptist Church in Monett. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Interserve USA (c/o Mark Huffman, P.O. Box 418, Upper Darby, Pa., 19082) or New Site Baptist Church (P.O. Box 731, Monett, Mo., 65708).
