Belinda Susan (Reeb) Russell, 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Belinda was born December 4, 1963, at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia to Carol (Humphrey) Reeb.
Throughout her life she lived in several locations, including New Orleans, Louisiana; Paducah, Kentucky; Nixa, Missouri; and Burbank, California. While in Nixa, Belinda owned and operated an upholstery shop located in Springfield near Bass Pro Shop. Eventually, she settled in Mt. Vernon with Wayne Russell, her husband of 30 years.
Belinda met Wayne while living in California. As a couple they had an avid hobby buying and selling antiques and collectibles. A fixture on the auction and estate sale scene, friends often would recognize Belinda, even though she was always bent over with her head deep in a box or pile of stuff looking for an elusive treasure to sell. While residing in the Golden State, the couple owned an antique store and sold at the monthly grand daddy of them all, Rose Bowl Swap Meet in Pasadena. The duo were also over the road truckers, driving big rigs as a team for many years.
The pair moved to Mt. Vernon in 2003 and continued their antique pastime. The couple was a fixture at auctions and they sold at flea markets and several swap meets throughout the area.
Belinda loved to fish, often spending a quiet morning boating out to her favorite fishing hole on Stockton Lake. When not fishing, many spring and summer mornings were spent gardening. Fall was filled with canning. She also avidly followed politics and enjoyed a spirited, yet friendly debate with other members at the Eagles Lodge in Mt. Vernon.
Belinda is survived by husband, Wayne, of the home; three sisters: Tammy Day of Winchester, Va., Donna Lamb of Portsmith, Va. and Kimberly Brashear of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and son Daniel Reeb who lives and works in Cuba, Missouri.
Belinda was preceded in death by her mother.
