BRUCE EDWARD SCHATZER

Bruce Edward Schatzer, age 75, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, peacefully in his sleep. He was born August 24, 1948, in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of Oscar and Kathryn (Erickson) Schatzer.
Bruce graduated from Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Arizona in 1967 and attended Glendale Community College where he helped win a National Jr. Community College Baseball Championship in 1968.
Bruce worked many years as a business owner in Arizona and Missouri and later retired from Roadway where he worked for 20 years. After retirement Bruce dedicated his time and efforts to the community, especially to his organizations, “The Hangout” and the Marionville clothing bank for many years.
Bruce is survived by the mother of his children, Carolyn Rapp of Marionville; seven children, Tim (Christina) Schatzer of Marionville, Jody (Jeff) Wilcox of Springfield, Michael (Robin) Schatzer of Mt. Vernon, Lyle (Melissa) Schatzer of Strafford, Shane (Rachel) Schatzer of Rogersville, Kelly Schatzer of Sarcoxie, and Jolein (Justin) Willhite of Marionville; son-in-law, Paul Belew of Springfield; 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar, and Kathryn; daughter, Laura Kay Belew and four sisters, Carolyn Tolliver, Judy Lee Crutcher, Patricia Riley, and Carole Cunningham.
Bruce dedicated his life to Christ and was a man of faith. He was committed through a life of service. He is loved and will be missed by many.
Funeral services, under the direction of Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, were held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Marionville, with burial after in  Smart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
