CARL BERDEY LAYTON

Carl Berdey Layton, 60, of Purdy passed away on Monday Nov. 6, 2023 at his home in Purdy. He was born in Ft. Riley, Kan. on Dec. 12, 1962; the son of the late Vernie Leroy and Elsie Louis (Eggert) Layton.
He was a carpenter, served six years in the Army National Guard and attended Chapel of Grace Church in Monett.
He is survived by three sons: Carl Layton of Monett, Robert Layton of Monett, and Kip Layton of Oronogo; two daughters: Shawna Clevenger of McDowell and Jessica Layton of Monett; one brother: Roy Layton of Marionville; three sisters: Margaret Meads of Joplin, Sharon Garrett of Butterfield, and Elsie Layton of Neosho; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former friend, Helen Irene Miller; one son, Carl V. Layton and one brother, James Carnes.
Funeral services were held on Thursday Nov. 9, at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
