Chamber Director Bates named Woman of the Year

Mt. Vernon Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brittni Bates was chosen as the Woman of the Year for Xi Lambda Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.
Bates grew up in Welch, a small town in west Texas south of Lubbock. Her family has deep roots in agriculture, farming cotton and peanuts and raising commercial cattle for five generations. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Agricultural Communications. She started her career in San Antonio in 2011 doing communications and marketing. She and her husband, Jason Bates, met there and moved to Mt. Vernon in 2015 and very quickly fell in love with rural Missouri. They are now raising their two little boys, Briggs and Breyer, here.
Professionally, Bates began her role as Executive Director of the Mt. Vernon Area Chamber of Commerce just shy of two years ago. With an extensive background in communications and marketing, and experience working with membership organizations, Bates has a passion for serving the local community, building connections and supporting businesses.
Bates is a dynamic leader known for her enthusiasm, collaborative spirit and ability to bring people together. She excels at building partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and community organizations to create impactful initiatives that drive economic growth and enhance the quality of life for residents.
