Charles Dee Cherry

Charles Dee Cherry, 80, of Monett passed away April 5, 2021 at his home. He was born Jan. 21, 1941 in Sarcoxie son of Jay and Olive (Monroe) Cherry. He worked for Friend Tire before opening his own wallpaper and painting business. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Monett. He was a member of the Monett Masonic Lodge #129, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield and the Monett Historical Society. He attended business college at Draughon’s Business College in Springfield.
He is survived by sister, Barbara (Rex) Hall of Jefferson City; two nieces; three nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Jack Cherry and Jerald Cherry and sister, Judy Perch.
Visitation was held April 10, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church, Funeral service followed. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, First Presbyterian Church, Monett, or Compassus Hospice in care of the funeral home.
