Clara Lee Bounous

Clara Lee Bounous, 82, of Monett passed away April 13, 2021, while at her daughter’s home in Bridgeton, following a lengthy illness.
Bounous was born on Nov. 30, 1938 in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Walter Lee Welch and Freda Mae (Collar) Welch. Bounous graduated from Verona High School with the class of 1956. She worked as a bookkeeper for Crosslines and the insurance industry for many years. Bounous was a member of New Site Baptist Church.
Bounous is survived by son, Doug Bounous, of Monett; daughter, Debra (James) Powers of Bridgeton and two grandchildren. Bounous was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Welch and sisters, Nina Keene and Betty Klinginsmith.
Funeral services were held April 17, 2021 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Interment was held in Waldensian Cemetery, Monett. Visitation was held Friday at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to Power of Pink in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
