CLARENCE THOMAS “BUD” SCOTT, JR.

Clarence Thomas “Bud” Scott, Jr., 75, of Rocky Comfort passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. He was born in Vinita, Okla. on March 15, 1950; the son of Clarence Thomas Scott, Sr. and Wilma Jean (Burnett) Scott.
He graduated from McDonald County High School in 1968. He later attended Missouri Southern State College attaining an associate degree in automotive technology. He was employed by Automatic Systems, Incorporated in Kansas City as a construction superintendent from where he retired in 2007. He was a volunteer at the bi-monthly food pantry at the Body of Christ Ministries and an active member and past president of the Rocky Comfort Community Club. He was a member and the head deacon at Body of Christ Ministries.
On March 9, 2024, he married Peggy Craig in Wheaton.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; two sons, Clarence Thomas Alan Scott and Noah (Brittany) Malcom Scott all of Springfield, Ohio; three sisters: Iris Brock of Rocky Comfort, Janice (Larry) Cooper of Springfield and Sandra (Doug) LeVasseur of Bentonville, Ark.; as well as numerous grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; late wife, Carol Scott; granddaughter, Baylee-Ann Porter; brother-in-law, Steve Brock; nephew, Randy Allen Brock; niece, Kim Lowe and father-in-law, James Craig.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 3, at Body of Christ Ministries in Wheaton. Rev. Larry Cooper and Stacey Tichenor conducted the services.
Contributions may be made to Cherokee Nation Foundation in memory of Bud.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
