Debra Morgan

Debra Morgan, 69, formerly of Topeka, Kan., passed away in Monett on April 18, 2021 after her battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s.
Morgan was born in 1951 in Topeka, Kan. to Omer and Helen Dyer. She graduated from Shawnee Heights and was a part of the class of 1969. She began her working career at her family’s business, the Dyer Care Home. She married Ronnie Morgan in 1975 and they would later divorce. She was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young. She kept busy during this time leading Sunday School, Campfire and 4-H groups. When she reentered the work force, she went to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. After working in several departments, she settled into the Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union and eventually retired from her career with them. She was a member at Highland Park United Methodist.
Morgan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Rob Azelton; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Jenny Morgan and five grandchildren.
She didn’t desire a funeral and had given strict instructions on that.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
