Donald W. Brown

Donald W. Brown, 86, of Aurora, passed away Oct. 25.
Brown was a celebrated and honorary veteran having served in the Korean War from 1952-1954 and earning the special privilege of escorting Marilyn Monroe during her tour to visit and play for the troops.
 He is survived by: soulmate, Gloria Brown of 62 years; daughters, Donna (Stan) Newberry, Teresa Denney of Marionville, Lisa (James) Levingston of Pierce City, Melissa Custer; close friends and siblings, Grover Brown, James Brown, George Brown and Joe Brown, sisters Elda Kelley and Vesta Dean; parents, Nubern and Emma Brown; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren;
Visitation was held Oct. 28, followed by a funeral Oct. 29, at Peterson’s Funeral Home in Aurora.
