Floyd H. Lillegard

Floyd H. Lillegard, 98, of Monett passed away on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at the Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora.
Lillegard was born on Feb. 25, 1923 in Cylinder, Iowa to the late Herbert E. and Nellie Coral (Hudson) Lillegard.
Lillegard worked for M.E. Gillioz Construction Company for many years and later Masters-Jackson Paving Company. He served his country honorably during World War II in the United States Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal for his service to his country.
Lillegard married Cleo “Polly” Nimmo on Dec. 23, 1950 in Harrison, Ark. They were married for over 71 years.
Lillegard is survived by his wife, Polly; two daughters, Patty Leach (Kirby) and Becky Hilton, all of Monett; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Lillegard was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Virgil and Gerald Lillegard; and two sisters, Lucy Jean Highfill and Elva Smith.
No formal services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
