GALE AUSTIN JANES

Gale Austin Janes, 74, of Marionville passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born in Aurora on Sept. 11, 1950; the son of Howard and Virginia (Hood) Janes.
He graduated from Marionville High School in 1968 and was a United States Army veteran, who proudly served in the Vietnam War. After returning from the service, he worked for Lily-Tulip Cup Corporation in Springfield and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
On June 7, 1969, he married Barbara Lou Rodgers, in Aurora.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara; two daughters, Jenny Coyle and Heather Edwards; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Mahurin and Roxanne Owens; one sister-in-law, Darlene Janes and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Landon Janes; sister, Judy Janes; brother-in-law, Sam Mahurin and nephew, Bruce Gardner.
Graveside services under the direction of Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, were held on Tuesday, May 6, at Ruckman Cemetery.
