GARY GENE GOOSTREE

Gary Gene Goostree, 80, of Rocky Comfort passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025. He was born in Wheaton on May 17, 1944; the son of Glessnor and Marie (Clanton) Goostree.
After graduating from Rocky Comfort High School, he married Ruth Ann Ellis; they spent nearly 60 years together.
He was highly skilled at small engine repair which led to operating his own business in Wheaton and Cassville for several years. He also worked as a mechanic for the Wheaton School District as well as other side jobs throughout the years. He enjoyed serving his community as a board member of the Rocky Comfort Cemetery. He also raised cattle and farmed.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann; his two sons, Doug (Becky) Goostree and Dan (Sarah) Goostree of Rocky Comfort; one brother, Bill (Susan) Goostree of Exeter; his five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at The Gathering Tabernacle in Rocky Comfort. Pastor Dan Goostree and Pastor Paul Wahlert conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort.
