Gordon William “Bill” Cooper

Gordon William “Bill” Cooper, 59, of Monett passed away  April 4, 2021 while at his home.
Cooper was born on July 17, 1961 in Chicago, Ill., son of Robert John Cooper, Sr. and Gwendolyn June (Tindall) Cooper. He graduated from Addison Trail High School, Addison, Ill., with the class of 1980. He then earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northern Illinois University. Cooper attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett.
Survivors include mother, Gwendolyn Cooper, of Monett; step-mother, Nancy V. Cooper, of Algonquin, Ill.; brothers, Robert John Cooper, Jr. and Mike (Rhonda) Cooper of Monett; niece, Brittni (Zac) Seufert of Pierce City; great-niece, Kendall June Seufert, of Pierce City and his nephews, Michael Cooper and fiancée Audrey Bebout, of Springfield and Matthew Cooper, of Monett.
Cooper was preceded in death by his father, Robert John Cooper, Sr.
A visitation was held April 8, 2021 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Funeral services followed. Cooper will be laid to rest at a later date in Chicago, Ill. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Clark Center in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
