Jade Ashley Curry

Jade Ashley Curry, age 39, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 12:23 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019, at the Cox South Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri.  She was born August 24, 1980, in Springfield, the daughter of Thomas and Judi (Cornell) Curry.
Jade was a 1998 graduate of Dexter High School, in Dexter, Missouri.  She graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 2002 with a Biochemist Degree.  In 2006 she graduated from the St. Louis School of Pharmacy.  She worked as a pharmacist at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon and at the Walmart Pharmacy in Mt. Vernon and Aurora.
Jade is survived by her son, Elias Curry, of Mt. Vernon; her mother, Judi Russell and her husband, John, of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Tina Burnett of Springfield, and Trisha Mobley of Ozark, Missouri; one niece, Ashley; three nephews, Dallas, Cody and his wife, Lexie and Hunter and several aunts and uncles.
Jade was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Iris Cornell, uncle, Duane Cornell and paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Curry.
A visitation was held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service that followed at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Private burial will be held at a later date at the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Jade Ashley Curry Scholarship Fund, School Lunch Program, the Community Garden Project or the Emergency Children’s Services in care of the funeral home.
