JAMES RICHARD MCCANN

James Richard McCann, 78, of Miller passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1944, in Salt Gap, Texas, the son of Richard “Dick” and Allene (Curry) McCann.
He was a 1963 graduate of Melvin High School in Melvin, Texas. He was a United State Marine Corp veteran,  a cattle farmer. and a member of the Southwest Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and Round Grove Baptist Church.
He married Linda Irene Lakin on June 26, 1968, in Weatherford, Texas. They were married for 53 years before she passed away on July 5, 2021.
He is survived by one daughter, Monica Marie (Tommy) Escamilla of Miller; two sons, Travis Austin (Amy) McCann of Miller and Jason Case (Mary Lou) McCann of Miller; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda.
A private burial was held at Gray’s Point Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 3.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
