Jimmie Howard Wormington

Jimmie Howard Wormington, 91, of Monett, passed away on Tuesday Aug. 26, 2025 while staying at Oak Pointe in Monett. He was born in Monett on May 10, 1934; the son of the late Oliver Austin and Lois Marie (McPhail) Wormington. He was united in marriage on June 5, 1955 in Monett, to Mary Helen Bounous; she preceded him in death on December 22, 2007.
He was a retired mechanic having worked for D.A. & S Oil Well Servicing and attended Waldensian Church in Monett.
He is survived by one son; Larry Dean Wormington and his wife Carol of Alamogordo, N.M.; one brother: Ron Wormington of Monett; one sister; Vera Coker of Monett; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Helen; and one son; Danny Mark Wormington.
Visitation is being held on Wednesday September 3, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services are being held on Thursday September 4, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Waldensian Church in Monett. Burial next to his wife Mary Helen will follow services at the Waldensian Cemetery in Monett.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
