John Rohan Guilfoyle IV

John Rohan Guilfoyle IV, 68, of Monett, passed away Nov. 30, 2019, while at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. 
Guilfoyle was born Sept. 18, 1951 in Roanoke, Va., to the late John Rohan Guilfoyle III and Christine (Lynch) Guilfoyle. He was a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church and graduated from Roanoke Catholic High School with the class of 1969. He then furthered his education at Virginia Tech where he earned his master’s degree in 1977. During his college years, he worked for the USDA. In 1977, he began his 34 year career with Schreiber’s in Monett, retiring in 2011 as quality assurance manager. In 1983, he married Janis Kay Ester in Monett. They have been blessed with over 36 years together.
Survivors include: his wife, Janis; sons, Jason Guilfoyle, of Mountain Lake, Minn. and John Guilfoyle V, of Wallingford, Conn.; sisters, Anne Ellis, Norma (Bob) Coulling and Mary Hale, all of Roanoke; as well as a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Guilfoyle.
A memorial service was held Dec. 6, 2019 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Interment followed the services at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
