JOHN WESLEY WISE

John Wesley Wise, 90, of Aurora passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Cox Hospital in Springfield. He was born in Aurora May 22, 1934; the son of Morris and Dorothy (Taylor) Wise.
She graduated from Aurora High School and was a United States Army veteran. He worked in maintenance for Bank of Aurora, Charter Bank, Boatman’s Bank and Nations Bank retiring in 1996.
On July 8, 1957, he married Sue Bassore in San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sue; three daughters: Kim (Terry) Bagby of Aurora, Sally Jessee of Aurora and Lori (David) Tegarden of Springfield; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, M.C. Wise; sister, Martha Toft and son-in-law, Herb Jessee.
A graveside service was held on Monday, May 5, at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
