JUDY GAIL WHEELER

Judy Gail Wheeler, 71, of Monett passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, while at the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1952 in Monett, daughter of the late Jack W. and Barbara A. (Bowman) Gilmartin. She grew up in Verona and graduated from Verona High School in 1970. She then went on to cosmetology school and later earned her LPN license at Ozark Technical College in 2007. She was of the Baptist faith.
She for the Barry-Lawrence County Ambulance District from 1987-1991. She then began at Tyson Food’s, retiring as an LPN in 2018.
On March 8, 1987, she married William David Wheeler. They were married for 10 years before his passing in 1997.
She is survived by one son, Jeff Carlisle of Springfield; one step-son, Grant (Jennifer) Wheeler of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Jack (Linda) Gilmartin of Cape Coral, Fla. and Mackie (Valerie) Gilmartin of Monett; three sisters: Linda (Mike) Shepherd of Monett, JoNell Green of Verona, and Bobbi (Daniel) Narancich of Shell Knob; two grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends. She also leaves behind her dog Molly.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Carlisle; two brothers, Jerry Gilmartin and Tony Gilmartin; and two sisters, DeeAnn Walker and Patty Gilmartin.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 10, at Spring River Cemetery in Verona with Pastor Aaron Weibel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Buchanan Funeral Home to help with expenses for the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
