LAWRENCE DWAINE HAMPTON

Lawrence Dwaine Hampton, 62, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, in Springfield. He was born in Kansas City, Kan. on Sept. 4, 1962; the son of Mildred and Donald Hampton.
He was a longtime resident of Mt. Vernon.
He is survived by Rosea Scharr; his children, Ryan Hampton (Jessica Riott) and Amanda (Michael) Solak; and his grandchildren: Samuel, William, Isabella and MacKenzie Solak. He is also survived by siblings: Connie Minton, Gary Hampton, Melinda McGregor and Danny Hampton with their families, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donnie Hampton.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Hampton, Samuel Solak, William Solak, Zach Scharr, Alan Neely and Jeremy Stevens. He will be laid to rest at the family farm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made, in Dwaine’s honor, to Amanda Solak for a foundation to be set up soon (Hillbilly Hotrodz Foundation). Memorials may be sent to the Funeral Home, 501 Elm St., Pierce City, MO 65723.
