Lee Roy Hoskins

Lee Roy Hoskins, 78, passed away Aug. 22, 2019 at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. Hoskins was born to Charles and Lucille Hoskins in Huron, S.D. When he was 17 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for 21 years. He immediately began a second career at NASCO in San Diego, Calif. where he worked 20 years before retiring. He married his best friend Clare in 1967. She passed away in 2011. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his wife, he enjoyed baseball and football games, playing golf and fishing. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. After living the majority of his life on the west coast he moved to Carthage in 2012 to be near family.
Hoskins is survived by: sisters, Jeannie (Roger) Baker of Monett, Janis (Bill) George of Carthage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
