LINDA J. SHORT

Linda J. Short, 75, of Verona passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was born in Muleshoe, Texas on June 3, 1950; the daughter of Carl and Loreta (Trulock) Gregory.
She graduated from Spring Lake-Earth High School with the class of 1968.
She married Phillip R. Short on Dec. 31, 1970, in Muleshoe. Her banking career started in 1975 where she worked for Federal Employees Credit Union in both Sherman and Denison, Texas. She and her family moved to southwest Missouri in 1990, and she began a 30 year career with First State Bank of Purdy, retiring in 2020. She was a member of the Freedom Christian Center in Aurora.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Phillip; her daughter, Shawndi Prisk, of Aurora; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy (Brent) Jones and Vickie (John) Sollis; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wade Short; her son-in-law, Fred Prisk; her parents; her brother, Tommy Gregory and Carlton Gregory; and her sisters, Carolyne Stephens and Diana Louise Carpenter.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, June 21, at Freedom Christian Center in Aurora. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
