LINDA JEAN GAROUTTE

Linda Jean Garoutte, age 76, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri passed away at 9:23 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Cox Hospital in Monett, Missouri. She was born on July 21, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri; the daughter of the late Elmer and Pauline (Hillhouse) Bartley.
Linda attended Mt. Vernon High School and worked in housekeeping at the Best Western Mt. Vernon Inn in Mt. Vernon. She enjoyed gardening, taking pictures and scrapbooking. She attended the Faith Full Gospel Church in Aurora, Missouri.
On October 15, 1993, she married Gary Garoutte, in Chesapeake, Missouri.
Linda is survived by her of husband 31 years, Gary; three daughters: Sandy Maddocks of Monett, Missouri, Tracy Day and  her husband, Randy, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Deanna Norris, of Portland, Oregon; one brother, Ronnie Bartley of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one sister, Sherry Jones and her husband, Dale of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, to help defray the funeral expenses.
