LINDA KAY PHIPPS

Linda Kay Phipps, 82, of Cassville passed away on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024. She was born Aug. 24, 1942, in Springfield; the daughter of Carl E. Henley and Christine (Hartley) Henley.   
She graduated from Ava High School and then from SW Missouri State College in Springfield with a degree in music.
She married Marvin E. Phillps on June 5, 1964, in Ava and together they raised one beloved, special-needs daughter, Maria Kay Phipps.
She was the pianist, and an avid member of the Bell Choir, at Cassville United Methodist Church for many years.  She also taught elementary and junior high school music, and first and second grades; and she gave piano lessons to numerous piano students in her home.
They moved to Cassville and lived in Wildwood Estates for 15 years before purchasing acreage on Highway 248 where she remained until she passed away.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Crowell of Columbia; three nephews; three cousins; and several nieces-in-law, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friends, and beloved caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her daughter, Maria; her parents; one sister-in-law, Audra Stanifer; and one brother-in-law, Jim Crowell.  
Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at United Methodist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jeff Fugitt conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville.
