Lisa’s Grooming Salon named “Top Grooming Business” in Missouri
Mt. Vernon operation wins prestigious industry award
Lisa’s Grooming Salon and Pet Boutique, of the Mt. Vernon pet care community, has been named the “Top Grooming Business in Missouri” for 2024 by The Daily Groomer. Competing against over 500 other grooming businesses across the state, Lisa’s Grooming Salon and Pet Boutique stood out for its exceptional services, innovative practices and unwavering commitment to pet welfare.
Founded almost 10 years ago by Lisa Boyd, the salon has grown from a small local business into a destination for pet owners seeking top tier grooming and boutique services. Boyd’s vision of combining expert grooming with a personalized touch has resonated deeply with pet owners throughout southwest Missouri.
“With more than 20 years in the business, all the hard work and dedication is paying off to be recognized as the best in Missouri,” said Boyd. “I am incredibly honored and thankful to our loyal customers who have supported us over the years.”
Lisa’s Grooming Salon and Pet Boutique offers a wide range of services, including comprehensive grooming packages, specialized treatments, and a curated selection of pet products. Known for its friendly, experienced staff, stress-free environment, and homeopathic wellness products, the salon has cultivated a loyal clientele and a reputation for excellence.
In addition to expert grooming services, Lisa’s Grooming and Pet Salon actively participates in community efforts, is a member of the Mt. Vernon Area Chamber of Commerce, and supports local animal welfare initiatives. But Boyd’s greatest passion is training and teaching others how to perform safe grooming techniques and educating them about homeopathic treatments and welfare.
“Teaching has always been a passion for me because I’ve seen what happens to pets in uneducated, untrained shops, and by educating students and pet owners, we’re paving the way for safe, painless grooming and treatment of animals,” Boyd said. “One of the most important things I teach my students is that humanity is a priority over vanity because a pet owner’s wants will never come before a pet’s wellbeing.”
Boyd trains her own staff and serves as a mentor for working in the pet industry. Not only does she teach how to groom, she also teaches her students anatomy, infrared therapy, creative grooming, as well as how to make quality, all-natural homeopathic shampoos, salves and dog treats.
