Lloyd T. Evatt

Lloyd T. Evatt passed away March 15, 2021. He was born Jan. 23, 1922, the son of Fred and Ada (Head) Evatt, near Clever. He was the youngest of four children in the home.
He graduated Clever High School in 1941. He joined the Navy in 1942. During his 3 1/2 years in the Navy, he was in 33 different ports in the South Pacific and the Caribbean Sea. He was a member of Sunset Church of Christ, Military of the Purple Heart #0621, and American Legion #0676. He retired from Lily Tulip after 31 years. He was united in marriage on April 6, 1946, to Juanita Gray. They were married just shy of 56 years before her passing on April 3, 2002.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brother, Marvin Evatt and Paul Evatt; sisters, Helen Scott, Florence Payne, Stella Snell and Oleta Morgan; sister-in-law, Lois Gray and a niece, Lesia Clemens.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Annabelle Gleghorn; siblings, Harold (Judy) Evatt, Bill Evatt, Bod (Alice) Evatt and Shirley Smith; nieces and nephews, DeWayne (Liza) Gray, Terry (Mark) Yake, Carolyn Heavin and husband Don and his wife; great nieces, Taylor and Shelby Yake, as well as other extended family and countless friends.
A graveside service was held March 22, 2021 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens under direction of Meadors Funeral Home. Full Military honors were held at the graveside service. Memorial donations may be made to Fair Have Children’s Home, 3132 N Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757.
