Lloyd Wilson Jr

Lloyd Wilson Jr, 83, of Clever passed away April 29, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born on Nov. 12, 1937 in Springfield to Lloyd and Ava (Gilmore) Wilson. He was the oldest of six children in the home.
He graduated from Nixa High School and then enlisted in the US Air Force, honorably serving four years. After returning home he married Sondra Gryder on Sept. 15, 1961. This union was blessed with two children, Karen and Lloyd. He worked as a “maintenance man” for Kraft for 33 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Clever. He was a licensed airplane pilot.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson and a brother-in-law, Steve Hale.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years; daughter, Karen (John) Kensinger; son, Lloyd “Gregg” (Beverly) Wilson; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; siblings, Oral (Judy) Wilson, Ronnie (Brenda) Wilson, Darlene (Larry) Hale, Connie Hale and Dwight (Leetta) Wilson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and countless friends.
A visitation was held May 4, 2021 in the chapel at Meadors Funeral Home in Clever. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2021 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in White Oak Cemetery in Rogersville.
