Local cheerleading squads compete at state cheer competition
The Mt. Vernon High School cheerleaders competed at the Missouri Cheer Coaches Association State Championships in Cape Girardeau, on Saturday, Dec. 11, where they placed third in the Class 2 - Large Division. Earlier in the season, the squad placed first at the MCCA Kansas City Regional Competition, to earn a spot to compete in the State Championship.
And for the first time in Miller’s school history, the Miller High School cheerleaders also competed at State competition in Cape Girardeau on Dec. 11, where they took sixth place, for Class 1A Large. Miller’s competitive season also consisted of placing third at Regionals in October, which sealed their ticket to the Cape.
