Maleta “Pat” Center

Maleta “Pat” Center, 94, of Joplin, passed away July 26, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Joplin.
She was born Nov. 9, 1924 in Ellsworth, Kan. She moved to Joplin in 1992, after spending over 35 years in Aurora. She was employed for several years with the Vasey-Bristol Shoe Mfg. Co. in Monett and later worked as a CNA with Aurora Hospital and Aurora Nursing Home. She was a member of the College Heights Christian Church and volunteered with Crosslines, and American Rehabilitation Ministry. She married William W. Center in 1942 in Cassville.
Survivors include: daughter, Katherine Wilkerson, Joplin; sister, Louise Stockton of Aurora; two grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband William W. Center; daughter, Barbara Fenske; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Clio Cemetery in Jenkins. Memorials are requested to God’s Resort in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin.
