Martha Josephine Pirnie

Martha Josephine Pirnie, 77, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Sunday, June 21, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center. She was born Oct. 1, 1948, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the daughter of the late Judson Henry and Josephine Hester (Mericle) DeBow Jr.

She was a 1966 graduate of St. Petersburgh High School in St. Petersburgh, Fla. She worked in the laundry department at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center and was a member of Phillips Global Methodist Church, in Phillips, Neb.

She is survived by one daughter, Christine Dillion and her husband, Jerry, of Aurora, one son, Michael Phillips and his wife, Christy Inman, of Marionville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
