MARY HELEN (KELLER) STEINLE

Mary Helen (Keller) Steinle, 95, formerly of Mt. Vernon and Aurora, passed away on March 27, 2025. She was born in Decatur, Ala. on Dec. 15, 1929; the only daughter of Earle Frederick and Helen Louise (Rice) Keller.
She graduated from Wichita High School in Wichita, Kan. She then attended Kansas University in Lawrence, Kan. where she studied interior design and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
She met her husband, Jack Preston Steinle at KU and they were married on Aug. 15, 1950. After her husband completed law school, they moved their family to Aurora, where they lived and raised their children until they moved to Mt. Vernon for his position as Associate Circuit Judge.
She enrolled at Missouri State University (then Southwest Missouri State) and completed her degree in art education at the age of 54.
After retirement they moved to Bella Vista, Ark. and then spent her final years in Springfield.
She is survived by her remaining children: April Ann (Charles) McDonough, Dr. Jeffrey Dean Steinle and Crystal (Dan) Graham; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Jack; and her son, David Earle Steinle.
A private graveside service will be held at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
